        Following our first successful Live Broadcast six years ago, we will hold the Broadcast every Sunday at 11 am (BST).  We have been asked by some Members if they can provide their own Bread & Wine as they follow the Service, the answer to that is "YES".  To follow the "Live Broadcast" you will need to:-

  1. Download from the Internet a programme called ivisit from http://www.ivisit.com (the programme is free).

  2. After downloading the programme, install it to your hard drive.

  3. Whilst connected to the internet, open the programme and logon to ivisit, once the program is running logon to our user name Archbishop.1273 On the dialogue box with address book, type Archbishop.1273@ivisit.net in the bottom box with a plus sign and then press return, then click the connect button and you will then log on to the service.

  4. On some computers in order to secure a connection you have to disable your Firewall and any Spy Programs you have running.  Put them back on as soon as the "Live Broadcast" is over.

  5. Five Minutes before the Service starts a Test Card will be shown, to enable you to see picture and hear sound.   We are not the BBC but it is fairly effective or so our hundreds of Members tells us.

  6. The minimum requirements to watch the service are, Windows 98 SE or above, a Pentium one or above, a sound card (Sound Blaster Compatible) and a 56k Modem or above.  you don't need a Web Cam or a TV Card.

  7. Watch the service and feel free, at appropriate points, to join in.

  8. Below is a brief transcript of how the "Live Service" will proceed, of course it will vary week to week depending on the feast we will be celebrating, but will more or less be the same format.

We are now in BST (British Summer Time)

The Next "Live Broadcast" will be on

1st August 2010 at 11 am BST (Year 1)

The Ninth Sunday After Trinity

Pentecost 10

Old Testament:  Job 42 vv 1 - 6 (TEV)

New Testament: Philippians 2 vv 1 - 11 (NEB)

Gospel Reading: John 13 vv 1 - 15 (NEB)

We use different versions of the Holy Bible to reflect the different folk who watch and the theme of the Celebrant

Bible Versions:-

RSV = Revised Standard Version

NEB =         New English Version

JB  =              Jerusalem Bible

TEV  =  Today's English Version (Good News Bible)

These are the Holy Bible Verses which confirm to us why we should celebrate Holy Communion

Matthew 26 vv 26 - 29;   Mark 14 vv 22 - 24;

Luke 22 vv 17 - 20

Holy Communion

A Celebration of The Lord's Supper

Priest:     The peace of the Lord be always with you

ALL:       And Also with you

ALL:

  •     Almighty God, Unto whom all hearts be open, All desires known, and from whom no secrets are hid:  cleanse the thoughts of our hearts by the inspiration of Your Holy Spirit, that we may perfectly love You, and worthily magnify Your Holy Name;  through Christ our Lord. Amen.

The Priest says a COLLECT appropriate for the day

  •     There now follows readings and intercessions for the day & week ahead including The Nicene Creed (The Statement of What We Believe As A Church).

Reader:             This is the Word of the Lord

ALL:           THANKS BE TO GOD

THE NICENE CREED

(The Statement of What We Believe As A Church)

We believe in one God,
the Father, the Almighty,
maker of Heaven and Earth,
of all that is, seen and unseen.

We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ,
the only Son of God,
eternally begotten of the Father,
God from God, Light from Light,
true God from true God,
begotten, not made,
of one Being with the Father.
Through Him all things were made.
For the People and for our Salvation
He came down from Heaven;
by the Power of the Holy Spirit
He became incarnate of the Virgin Mary,
and was made man.

For our sake He was crucified under
Pontius Pilate;
He suffered death and was buried.

On the third day He rose again
in accordance with the Scriptures;
He ascended into Heaven
and is seated at the right hand of the Father.
He will come again in glory
to judge the living and the dead,
and His Kingdom will have no end.

We believe in the Holy Spirit,
the Lord, the giver of life,
who proceeds from the Father and the Son.
With the Father and the Son He is worshipped and glorified.
He has spoken through the Prophets.
We believe in one Holy Catholic
and Apostolic Church.
We acknowledge one Baptism
for the forgiveness of sins.
We look for the resurrection of the dead,
and the life of the world to come. Amen.

Priest:

  •     Seeing we have a great high Priest who has passed into the Heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us draw near with a true heart, in full assurance of faith and make our confession to our Heavenly Father.

ALL:     The Confession

  •     Almighty God, our Heavenly Father, we have sinned against You, through our own fault, in thought, and word, and deed, and in what we have left undone.   We are heartily sorry and repent of all our sins.   For the sake of Your Son Jesus Christ, forgive us all that is past; and grant that we may serve You in newness of life to the glory of Your Name. Amen.

Priest:   The Absolution

  •     Almighty God, who forgives all who truly repent, have mercy upon you, pardon and deliver you from all our sins, confirm and strengthen you in all goodness, and keep you in life eternal; through Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour.  AMEN.

ALL:

  •     We do not presume to come to this Your table, O merciful Lord, trusting in our own righteousness, but in Your manifold and great mercies.   We are not worthy so much as to gather up the crumbs under Your Holy Table.   But You are the same Lord whose nature is always to have mercy.   Grant us therefore, gracious Lord, so to eat the flesh of Your dear Son Jesus Christ and to drink His Blood, that we may evermore dwell in Him and He in us. Amen.

Priest:        The Priest Consecrates the Bread and Wine

  •     Our Lord Jesus Christ on the same night that He was betrayed took Bread and gave You thanks; He broke it, and gave it to His Disciples, saying, take eat; this is My Body which is given for you; do this in remembrance of Me.    In the same way, after supper He took the cup and gave You thanks; He gave it to them, saying, Drink this, all of you; this is My Blood of the new covenant, which is shed for you and for many for the forgiveness of sins. Do this as often as you drink it in remembrance of Me. AMEN.

ALL:

  •     We, who are gathered here are one Body, because we all share in the Bread of Christ.

Priest:   As our Saviour taught us, so we pray:

ALL:    The Lord's Prayer

  •     Our Father in Heaven,

  •         Hallowed be Your Name;

  •     Your Kingdom come;

  •         Your will be done,

  •     On earth as it is in Heaven.

  •         Give us today our daily bread.

  •     Forgive us our sins,

  •         As we forgive those

  •     Who sin against us.

  •         Lead us not into temptation;

  •     But deliver us from evil.

  •         For the Kingdom, the Power,

  •     And the Glory, are Yours,

  •         Now and ever. Amen.

Before the distribution of the Holy Communion the Priest says:

Priest:

  •     Draw near and receive the Body of our Lord Jesus Christ, which was given for you, and His Blood, which was shed for you. Take this Consecrated Bread and Wine in remembrance that Christ died for you, and feed on Him in your hearts by faith with thanksgiving.

At the distribution the Priest says:

  •      Receive The Body of Christ,

  •     Receive The Blood of Christ

or

  •     Receive The Body of Christ, may it keep you in eternal life.

  •     Receive The Blood of Christ, may it keep you in eternal life.

    The communicant may reply each time Amen, and then receives.

  • After Holy Communion this or another appropriate prayer is said by the Priest:

ALL:    The Thanksgiving

  •     Almighty God, we thank You for feeding us with the Body and Blood of Your Son our Lord Jesus Christ;  Through Him we offer You our souls and bodies to be a living sacrifice.   Send us out with the power of Your Spirit to live and work for Your Praise and Glory. Amen.

The Priest says a Blessing:

Priest:

  •     The peace of God, which passes all understanding, keep your hearts and minds in the knowledge and love of God, and of His Son Jesus Christ our Lord; and the blessing of God Almighty, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, be among you and those you love, now and always. Amen.

Priest:             Notices for the coming week

Next "Live Broadcast" is ....

Priest:              Go in peace to love and serve the Lord.

ALL:             In the Name of Christ. Amen.
