The Yeshua Worldwide Network of Churches

THE WHOLE ARMOUR OF GOD

  •     THE CHRISTIAN LIFE IS A BATTLE AGAINST THE FORCES OF EVIL. OUR LORD JESUS CHRIST commands us to fight this battle under His leadership. The warfare is unremitting, real and dangerous if we try to fight in our own strength.

  •     It can ONLY be fought in the strength of GOD through FAITH in JESUS CHRIST. We cannot stand before the onslaughts of evil on our own.

  •     Satan, the devil, is a real spiritual being and has large forces at his disposal. So we need SPIRITUAL ARMOUR to protect us when we are attacked, and SPIRITUAL WEAPONS with which to fight.

  •     EPHESIANS 6 vv 18 - 20 confirms that we fight not against "flesh and blood", but against spiritual enemies. And that GOD alone provides the protection and the weapons we need for this war.

  •     The ARMOUR OF GOD must be put on before the battle - it may be too late once the fighting begins !

    Therefore We Put On "The Whole Armour Of God"

    First Thing Each Morning On Waking

  •     If you follow the simple but vital procedure on the following pages, you will soon become conscious of how your imaginative prayer quickens FAITH and brings real answers in times of temptation and need. Many Christians testify to the effectiveness of the daily application of the "ARMOUR OF GOD".

    SO

  •     ON WAKING, we thank our HEAVENLY FATHER for the new day and the opportunities HE will give us to serve HIM.

    Then We Put On

    The Helmet Of Salvation

  •    

We Put On The Breastplate

Of Righteousness

  •     GOD’S righteousness, not ours ! HE accounts our relationship with HIM as "PUT RIGHT" through HIS gift of ETERNAL LIFE. However much Satan may try to crush our FAITH by loading us with guilt - GOD has accepted and accounted us righteous, and our sins are FORGIVEN ! Isaiah 1 v 18

We Put On The Girdle Of Truth

  •     Satan is the "father of lies" and will Endeavour to pervert the WORD OF GOD which promises that "THERE IS NO CONDEMNATION FOR THOSE WHO ARE IN CHRIST JESUS". Romans 8 vv 1 - 4. THE TRUTH IS, SUPREMELY, JESUS CHRIST ! HE said, "I AM THE TRUTH". And HE gives us the HOLY SPIRIT who leads us into all truth.

We Put On The Equipment Of The Gospel Of Peace

  •     We let the LORD JESUS buckle on our feet the equipment of the GOSPEL OF PEACE. This enables HIM to lead us where HE wants into today's battle area. It protects us as we are led past obstacles and pitfalls that Satan has created, and enables us to be "CHRIST" to those our LORD sends us to help.

We Put On The Shield Of Faith  

  •     BY FAITH we take GOD’S promises as true ! We take the SHIELD OF FAITH in our left hand to protect overall from the "fiery darts of the devil", who will relentlessly attack and tempt us with fears, worries and depressions. Our firm FAITH IN GOD (and not in our own abilities) will enable HIM to protect us from those attacks.

We Put On The Sword Of The Spirit Which Is The Word Of God

  •     We take this SWORD (our Bible) in our right hand. It is more powerful in spiritual warfare than any weapon of Satan or man. It is to be wielded in the NAME OF JESUS CHRIST, cutting us free from all bondage to people and things, releasing us from the past, freeing us for HIS SERVICE. This SWORD must be kept sharp by constant and regular study of the SCRIPTURES. GOD’S TRUTH IN THE BIBLE must become part of our very selves. We must never neglect our study of the WORD OF GOD.

  •     We have now put on the "WHOLE ARMOUR OF GOD" and we complete our preparations by claiming A FRESH INFILLING OF THE HOLY SPIRIT WITH ALL HIS FRUIT AND GIFTS.

  •     WE PUT ON OVER OUR ARMOUR THE "MANTLE OF PRAISE" instead of a faint spirit. Isaiah 61 v 3

  •     AND WE KNEEL IN SPIRIT at the foot of the cross, asking that we and our loved ones may be covered with the "BLOOD OF THE LAMB".

  •     AND WE SIGN ourselves with the SIGN OF THE CROSS, for it is the only sign under which we were born, and under which we now live.

We Are Now Ready For The Lord's Work !

  •     In the evening when we are ready for bed, and just before we settle for sleep, we say this prayer:

"HEAVENLY FATHER, INTO YOUR HANDS I COMMIT MY SPIRIT. AMEN"

  •     We can sleep with certainty that the Lord’s peace and protection are over us during the night hours.

           NOTE:  

  •         Many Christians have a "quiet time" with the Lord in the     morning when they wake up. "THE WHOLE ARMOUR OF GOD" is not a to be regarded as a substitute for this time, but rather as an essential preliminary to it.
